There is a verse in the Rev 17 prophecy about the seven kings that some has pointed out as possibly not fitting with the interpretation. More precisely this is in verse 10 where it says about the seventh king: “… he must continue a short space”. Compared to a few of the other 6 kings (popes) that has been since 1929, it is clear that Benedict XVI has been in power for a longer period of time than two of them. So if the seventh king was to reign for a remarkably short period of time compared to the others, then the interpretation has failed.
Letting the Bible interpret itself with the exegese method, it is clear that there are only two alternatives as to who the seven kings are, and these are: a) kingdoms or b) individual leaders. On the main-page www.afterbenedictxvi.com, I have already shown how these kings cannot be symbols of kingdoms, and that the only solution left is that they are individual leaders of papal Rome. Then how does the information that the seventh king “must continue a short space” fit in with this interpretation? To me it appears very likely that Benedict XVI will have to “leave office” before his time, i.e. something will happen that causes his resignation. In this way his reign is shortened, and it might be this that the Bible calls a “short space”. According to the further interpretation of this prophecy, what happens is that the eighth king appears in the midst of Benedict’s reign. This king destroys the Catholic Church together with the ten horns (powers of Europe) shortly before the return of our Lord Jesus Christ.

These are special times we live in, and the endtime events seem to escalate even as we speak. Jesus said that the terrible events, including natural disasters and war, signalling His soon coming could be likened to birth pangs; that is they will increase in strength and will happen more frequently, and we see that happening right now. The earthquakes in Haiti, Chile, Japan etc., the volcanic eruptions in Iceland and Guatemala and Equador, the global economic crisis and all the talk of war going on all point towards that the year of 2010 may prove to be a year exceeding the previous ones in the 00’s in seriousness.
It looks like the Deepwater Horizon-accident is building up to be a lot more serious than what is reported on most main stream media. Some experts claim that the oil-leak could be as big as 120000 bpd, and also that there is not only one leak involved but several and that they prove very difficult to stop. The following weeks and possibly months will show how serious this leak will be ecologically and environmentally.
The economic crisis in Europe and in the rest of the world is perhaps more severe than most of us realize, as bailouts have been given and burnt, and new solutions prove harder and harder to find.
The world is in a very tense situation, and there is no doubt that the endtime events is escalating in intensity. Soon will be the day when we see our Lord Jesus in the skies. May we all be ready for that day!
Blessings to you all!
